Peter Stemus, Vice President of Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), has accumulated a wealth of experience in international business-to-business marketing within the IT and technology environments. Having previously worked closely with high-end to mainstream markets across Europe and the Far East, he is responsible for business development and strategic partnerships within EMEA and also for developing and implementing corporate and local marketing initiatives.

For three years prior, he was EMEA Marketing Director at Xircom, responsible for wireless and mobile products. Following the takeover by Intel in 2001, he moved into a sales, marketing and business development role for next generation wireless products, such as GPRS and UMTS, targeted at mobile users.

During the mid-90s, Peter was Worldwide Marketing Manager for the Graphics Systems division of Barco, where he was responsible for bringing to market hardware and software designed for workflow automation. Previously, Peter was a Product Manager at International Paper. Based in the Orient, he developed business and joint ventures across China and Hong Kong.

Peter is a graduate in Germanic Philology and Communication Sciences from the University of Ghent. Currently he sits on the board of the Belgian Marketing Foundation, the association of Belgian marketing professionals

Johan Beckers, Director of Technology Solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa, has accumulated a wealth of experience in IT, telecommunications and consultancy. Johan is responsible for technical sales support and product management across the EMEA region, and heads a team of technical pre-sales experts.

Johan joined Internet Security Systems (ISS) as a Security Consultant in the late 90s. He was one of the first employees in Brussels and has been central to the growth across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Previously, Johan worked for Cap Gemini, where he held a variety of consultancy roles and gained experience in IT infrastructures, security and managing IT departments.

Johan graduated from the University of Leuven where he obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering, with specialization in telecommunications. He subsequently achieved an MBA from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Johan joined Internet Security Systems in March 1997.

Michael Gallagher, Managed Security Services Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa has 35 years of experience in International commercial environments covering General Management, Sales Management of Direct Sales organisations and Indirect Channels, as well as National and International Product Management.

Managed the Flemish Governments’ Outsourcing project; one of the largest contracts in Europe. Was Director of Products at an International Project Management company during the 80’s, spending time in the Middle East on major capital projects.

He became Managing Director for the Benelux for a Software Company and left to become European VP for a Call Centre Management Company. Michael joined ISS in January 2005 to take leadership of the MSS Business activities in EMEA.

Gallagher is British and has lived in the Netherlands for 30 years. He was educated at Salford University in the UK and is married with 4 children.

Jef Gielkens, Business Development Manager for Managed Security Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He has a proven track record in marketing, international pre-sales and sales management functions. Previous companies include IBM and Marcam, where he was responsible for the Benelux and the former Eastern Europe.

Gielkens joined Internet Security Systems in January 2001 and has been developing the Managed Security Services business in the region since then.

He holds university degrees in Civil Engineering, Economics and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Leuven.

Ahmed Etman, Senior Technical Manager for the Gulf – Internet Security Systems Middle East is one of the founders of on the ground activities for ISS in the Gulf with extensive knowledge of Information Security Management System Framework (ISMS) development, Security Architecture Design, Intrusion Detection System Design, Tuning & Analysis, Information Systems Security Audit, with iIn depth competitive knowledge of IDS/IPS, vulnerability assessment, and Security Information Management (SIM).

Etman is a trusted security advisor to several entities across the region, mainly in the government and telecommunications. He is also a member of the Egyptian e-Government committee, with active contribution in the development of the security best practices related to the initiative.

Besides his Internet Security Systems certifications, Etman is a CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor, CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional and CCNA – CISCO Certified Network Associate holder.

Mohamed Mahdi, Territory Technical Manager for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Internet Security Systems Middle East has an extensive career in information systems management covering information systems security advisory, designing enterprise wide security solutions, information systems strategy design, deployment and tuning as well as project management and training.

Mahdi is an information protection professional with a long term experience working with most Microsoft products. Besides his Internet Security Systems certifications, he is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), System Engineer (MCSE), System Administrator (MCSA) and Professional (MCP)

Mahdi Joined Internet Security Systems in January 2002.

Ayman Esmat has been working with Internet Security Systems – Middle East since 1999, fulfilling several responsibilities in promoting ISS’ values and capacities within the region. He is now the Chief Technology Adviser and responsible for the advancement and promulgation of technical advices related to the development and implementation of Information Security technology strategies and Professional Services portfolio delivery to ISS-ME clients including both internal and external technical strategies.

In collaboration with the Strategic Services Director, he serves ISS-ME Strategic projects while assisting the Operation Vice President in the development and execution of ISS-ME technology and Professional Services plans.

A graduate of the Cairo University, major Business Administration; Ayman enjoys more than 19 years of multi-discipline IT experience from several multi-national IT and consulting companies such as ICL (formally known as Fujitsu) NCR, Oracle, and PriceWaterhouseCoppers.

Ghassan Mteirek joined Microsoft in 1999, as Enterprise Strategy Consultant for the Government Vertical. At Microsoft my responsibilities included designing and architecting Highly Secure Solutions for Federal, State, and Local Government. Before Joining Microsoft, I was the Chief Technology Officer for the Agency for Health Care Administration in Florida. My responsibilities included designing solutions for securing access to healthcare systems, protect patient, hospital, and government privacy, and developed systems to prevent healthcare fraud and abuse.
