Mr. David Cass
Presenter/broadcaster/consultant

David Cass is a media professional with in excess of thirty years experience.
He has worked as a correspondent and anchor in television and radio for
some of the world's most respected news broadcasters, including BBC News,
BBC World Service news and ITN.

He has five years of Middle East experience, including the start-up of
Dubai Television's Business Channel and MBC News on Two, where he was
chief presenter.

He is well known as a conference and seminar host around the Middle East,
where he has been chairman of several internationally regarded events,
including the Middle East e-government Summit, Middle East IT Security
Summit, CxO Oman 2003 and the Dubai City of Gold conference on the international
jewellery and precious metals industry. He was the only English-speaking,
Middle East journalist invited to both deliver a paper and moderate a
plenary session at the inaugural USArab Economic Forum, at Detroit in
2003.
Dr. Saeed Mohammed Al Barwani

Dr. Saeed Al Barwani joined eHosting DataFort (EHDF) -a subsidiary of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority and a member of the newly formed Dubai Holding, on 7th of November 2004. He brings with him over 19 years of experience in national, regional and international organisations. His experience entails leading and primary roles in the areas of Marketing, covering Marketing and Sales, Marketing Communication, Business Development, Reputation and Relationship Management, Collaboration, Manpower Development and Finance.
Prior to joining EHDF, Dr. Saeed worked for Al Futtaim Group of Companies as the e-Business Manager and General Manager for Training and Manpower Development. Previous to that he worked in senior positions in Iridium (Global Satellite Telecommunication System) and Shell in the Middle East.
Dr. Saeed, earned his Ph.D in Electronic Monitoring System from University of Wales - Swansea, UK. in 1989.
Mr. Steve Crutchley

Educated in the UK. Academic Equivalent in the United States; Bachelor
of Science in Management Information Systems (B.Sc. Management Information
Systems) with the concentration in Information Security.
Qualified Lead Auditor for BS 7799/ISO 17799.
Instructor for BSI/IEC 17799 Lead Auditor Course.
Steve has in excess of 35 years experience in IT, much of this spent
working internationally in the USA, Europe, South Africa and the Middle
East. He is currently the Chief Security Officer and co-owner of 4FrontSecurity
Inc. a US based Security Consultancy and Services firm based in
Reston Virginia.
With more than seventeen years experience in Information Security, combined
with an extensive knowledge of the industrial, commercial, government
and financial areas, Steve has dedicated his skills over this time to
be highly focused on information security and assurance. The intuitive
skill of "Making Sense of Security' is to provide management with
tools and techniques that enable them understand the intricacies in
an area where competence and expertise is in short supply worldwide.
There is a clear need for executives to understand security as it relates
to, and serves their organization. As the threats and vulnerabilities
increase, and the laws and regulations become more complex, risk increases
dramatically. Steve is a specialist in Information Security solutions
ranging from security strategies, policies, and architectures with specific
emphasis on security solutions, including Information Asset Management,
Business Continuity Planning, Privilege Management, Intrusion Detection,
PKI’s and their application, as applied in commerce infrastructures.
Steve also has a solid understanding of e-commerce and the Law as it
stands today. With extensive experience in Business and Security Management
Steve was involved in Government infrastructures providing security
and privacy advice. Steve has worked closely with all the major security
solutions providers and has created skilled teams of security professionals
that can support e-commerce business structures. He was also instrumental
in the first major PKI roll out in South Africa.
Steve has held senior positions in government, corporate and private
businesses for many years and has a solid track record of prior achievements.
Although his experience has always been technology related, his roles
have been various, from operational support, service management, through
to sales, marketing, business development and executive management.
This has provided him with the breadth and depth of knowledge required
to drive Information Assurance and IT initiatives in today’s challenging
times. In a sector where the noise is mixed and confusing, Steve is
able to help organizations navigate through the security maze and assist
them to select and deliver the processes and solutions that will mitigate
risk and support corporate governance. Steve has deep International
expertise, which is a key differentiator in security today.

Mr. David Michaux
Chief Executive Officer
SCANIT Middle East
David Michaux is CEO of SCANIT Middle East, the region’s most reputable auditor of IT security.
David’s responsibilities cover the strategic direction of the Dubai Internet City-based firm, its business expansion and regional alliances. He also manages day-to-day operations, oversees financial control, plus directs the firm’s critical research and development activities.
Michaux leap into his business career by joining Belgium’s state telecommunications provider, Belgacom, as junior security engineer, where he was quickly promoted to the head of a new, internal team called Scanit.
Created in 1999 by former members of the Protection and Prevention department at Belgacom, SCANIT’s initial task was to conduct technical audits on Belgacom’s complex telecommunications and IT infrastructure prior to privatization of the country’s telecommunications market.
Within a year, as CEO David helped spin-off Scanit from Belgacom and had so impressed the company’s former parent with the scope and quality of Scanit’s work that Belgacom took a 49 percent stake in the new firm.
By 2002, Michaux had taken a keen interest in the fast-growth Middle East market, with Dubai at its commercial hub. Michaux plans to develop a series of strategic partnerships and alliances across the region that will help bolster the company’s security services with government bodies, telecommunication companies and small and medium enterprises. To date these alliances include a milestone partnership with Symantec, the UAE’s telecommunication company Etisalat (ECompany) and the Omani telecommunications provider, Omantel. These alliances were a key driving force behind Scanit’s regional and international expansion.
David holds a European Business Law degree from Cambridge and Berlin Universities and an Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science degree from the University of Birmingham.

Mr. Neil Smith

Visa International – CEMEA
Neil has been heading up the E-Risk department for Visa International
CEMEA for almost 4 years now and has worked with Visa in Fraud and risk
management for nearly 6 years. Neil brings a wide experience of knowledge
and expertise in both the emerging technology area and also Fraud and
risk. Having worked in the industry for over 10+ years he has been associated
with some of big players in the payment scheme industry including the ‘Royal Bank of Scotland’ and First Data Corporation’.
As Visa is an association he has had the opportunity and pleasure of
developingv close relations with Global financial institutions across
the world leveraging his knowledge to advise on opertaional and stragtic
areas.
Mr. Omar Obeidat
Al Tamimi & Company
Omar Obeidat is a Jordanian national admitted to the Jordan Lawyers
Bar
Association. HE obtained his LL.B. degree from Yarmouk University, Jordan
and his LL.M. degree from the University of Georgia, USA. His main field
of specialization is intellectual property protection.
Omar headed the Intellectual Property Department at Abu Ghazaleh Legal
Services in Jordan and later on moved to join the firm of International
Business Legal Associates in a project of legal consultancy to Jordan's
Government on accession to the World Trade Organization. Omar has several
publications in intellectual property matters including domain name
disputes. He specifically has extensive experience and training on
WTO-related legal issues.
He has participated in drafting a number of laws and regulations in
Jordan and commented on relevant Information Technology and Intellectual
Property legislation in the UAE. He has joined Al Tamimi & Company
as a member in the IT/IP Department in the year 2000 Omar sits on the
Legislation Analysis Subcommittee of Middle East Africa and South Asia
in the International Trademarks Association. He has memberships to the
following organizations: Arab Society for Intellectual Property, Licensing
Executive Society-Arab countries, Dubai Quality Group.
